The Department of Civil Engineering of the Case School of Engineering offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with courses in almost all the traditional civil engineering subjects. The Bachelor of Science program in Civil Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, 111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012 - telephone: (410) 347-7700.
The graduate program offers the Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Civil Engineering with a focus in structures, engineering mechanics, geotechnical and environmental engineering. An active research program gives the students opportunities to participate in projects related to design, analysis, and testing.

Dr. Gasparini gave one-week short course in Greece
Professor Gasparini gave a one-week short course on stochastic process models in civil engineering at the University of Thessaly, Greece, on June 2-6, 2008. Professor Gasparini also presented a seminar on the design of structures for actively-controlled Maglev vehicles.

Mark Rokoff has won the Cleveland Technical Societies Council’s Technical Achievement Award
Mark Rokoff an Adjunct Assistant Professor has won the Cleveland Technical Societies Council’s Technical Achievement Award. Mark is also an alumnus of the Civil Engineering Department at Case Western Reserve University. Case Alumni Mike Khoncarly named Civil Engineer of the Year
Mahmoud (Mike) Khoncarly, PhD, P.E., Managing Discipline Engineer for Civil/Structural/Architectural/Environmental Engineeiing at URS Washington Division was selected as the 2008 Civil Engineer of the Year by the Cleveland Section of ASCE. Mike will receive his award at the June 12, 2008 ASCE Dinner Meeting.
Ph.D. canditate Bart Zalewski will present a Seminar at the University of Akron

Mr. Zalewski will speak on “Worst Case Bounds on the Point-wise Discretization Error in Boundary Element Method for Elasticity Problem”. Outstanding Paper Award - Professor Dario Gasparini and Judith Wang
Professor Dario Gasparini and Judith Wang received the 2006 Outstanding Paper Award from the ASCE Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities for their paper:”Battery-Joralemon Street Tunnel,” which appears in the Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities, February, 2006, p92-107. Judith Wang is a former NSF Fellow in the Department who is now Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines.
