CLEVELAND, OH , December 12, 2002—In an effort to support the goals of the American Society of Civil Engineers Policy Statement 465, which calls for the Master’s Degree to be considered the First Degree for Professional Practice, The Case School of Engineering has committed to a new scholarship program, (commencing the Fall ’02 term) for individuals who have received their BS degree in Civil Engineering from Case within the past five years and wish to pursue an MS degree. Full-time students, who meet the published entry requirements for the civil engineering MS program at Case, will be offered at least 1/2 tuition scholarship from The Case School of Engineering.
The ASCE Policy Statement 465 “... supports the concept of the Master’s Degree or Equivalent (MOE) as a pre-requisite for licensure and the practice of civil engineering at the professional level.”
